Pool Closures 

Closed Thursday October 6th for a water polo tournament. Go Pirates!!! 

Closed October 11th - 15th & the 17th - 21st for construction.
(We will be open Sunday, October 16th)


City of Morro Bay offers aquatic programming at Morro Bay High School, located at 235 Atascadero Rd; Morro Bay, Please take the second entrance into the high school.

Water temperature is approximately 78-80 degrees.  Pool is 25-yards by 35-meters.

A.M. Lap Swimming:  Offered Tuesday & Thursday ($5)

    Level 1 - Swimmer's are introduced to the water, without parents or guardians. Participants will learn how to enter & exit the water safely. They will learn how to blow bubbles, front float supported, back float supported, kick their feet, and big arms.

    Level 2 Beginner (Freestyle) - Swimmer's will learn how to enter & exit the water safely. They will learn how to bob (rhythmic breathing skills), front float supported and progress to unsupported, back float supported and progress to unsupported, kick in progression (on wall, on kick board, in prone glide unsupported), and freestyle arms(on wall, with kick stick, full stroke.)

    Level 2 Advanced (Freestyle) - Swimmer's will learn how to enter & exit the water safely. They will learn how to bob (rhythmic breathing skills), front float supported and progress to unsupported, back float supported and progress to unsupported, kick in progression (on wall, on kick board, in prone glide unsupported), and freestyle arms(on wall, with kick stick, full stroke.) Refining skills and working on endurance.

    Level 3 (Backstroke) -
     Once swimmers have a solid freestyle base they are ready for backstroke. Participants will learn the basics of backstroke while advancing their Freestyle and water safety skills. 

    Level 4 (Breaststroke) - Once swimmers have a solid Backstroke base they are ready for Breaststroke. Participants will learn the basics of Breaststroke while advancing their Backstroke, Freestyle and water safety skills. 

    Level 5 (Butterfly) - Once swimmers have a solid Breaststroke base they are ready for Butterfly. Participants will learn the basics of Butterfly while advancing their Breaststroke, Backstroke, Freestyle and water safety skills. 

    • Due to limited staff levels maybe combined to suit the needs of participants and staff
